Michael Connelly and Echo Park

This past Monday saw the release of Michael Connelly's latest Harry Bosch book, Echo Park. It's currently sitting in the top 10 bestsellers over at Amazon--a feat that fiction has had a difficult time doing for the past several months. In fact, as far as fiction goes at Amazon, it's second only to John Grisham's The Innocent Man. The New York Times list won't measure it until next week, but Connelly's paperback release of The Lincoln Lawyer is the #1 paperback bestseller at the Times.

All in all, a pretty good week for Connelly and his hardboiled Los Angeles detective.

He also took some time to participate in an interview with Book Help Web in which he talks about Echo Park and Harry Bosch.

Here's an excerpt:

The intentional theme to the whole series is the exploration of the equation of darkness. By that I mean the idea that if you go into darkness to carry out your mission, then some of that darkness is going to get into you. So the question is, what do you do with it? How do you keep yourself safe?
Whether you're new to the series or have been a fan since day 1, Echo Park is a good read and a great addition to the police detective genre.
